Abstract. The paper discusses some problems of investigation of peculiarities of families of invariant manifolds, which give a stationary value to the families of first integrals of differential equations of motion of mechanical systems. The method of investigation is based on using the envelope of such families of first integrals. Examples illustrating application of the method are given. The computer algebra system MATHEMATICA was applied in computations.
