On Asymptotic Solutions of Higher-Order Boundary Value Problems

Abstract.
This paper presents an algorithm for finding asymptotic solutions
to singularly perturbed
higher-order boundary value problems. The main idea is to regard
an $n$-th order problem as the combination of an initial value problem and
a singularly perturbed second order boundary value problem for which
an extensive theory exists. An algorithm for finding asymptotic solutions is
implemented
in Mathematica. It is illustrated
by two worked examples.
